WHAT IS MUSIC BUDDY?

music buddy exists to help musicians to make music by relieving them of the tedium & hassle of having to spend time & effort on the other activities which are necessary to achieve or retain commercial success

WHY DO MUSICIANS NEED HELP?

professional musicians can obtain income from composition, recording & live performance - each of these opportunities involves support activities that musicians often do not have either the time, inclination or the knowledge, skills & experience that are required to succeed.

composers can obtain income by securing a publishing contract or by licensing their works directly to recording artists/companies etc and collecting 'performing' & 'recording' royalties from PRS & MCPS respectively.

recording musicians can obtain income by securing a recording contract or by selling their recordings directly via distributors/aggregators etc and collecting 'performance' royalties from PPL.

performing musicians can obtain income by securing a touring or agency contract or by booking directly with venues, promoters or festival organisers - further income opportunities can arise through merchandising at gigs.

securing contracts requires considerable promotion & exposure - many musicians attempt a DIY solution - both approaches require considerable effort. .
